You Are What You Eat!

So I guess that makes me an avocado! Week 16 hit and the bump definitely made its presence known. I also started "craving" avocados... although I don't know how much of that is the power of suggestion by seeing a picture of one every day when I check Mini's progress online.

We're counting down the days until our anatomy scan. I'm still going back and forth about what I think Mini is. I'm actually kind of glad I don't have a strong feeling because I wouldn't want to offend the little one at such an early stage in our relationship.

Without further ado, here is my latest bump pic courtesy of my work bathroom mirror and camera phone:

For Those Who Were Wondering...

Yes, I am starting to show! This picture was taken on Sunday, April 3rd, at 14 weeks and 4 days. According to my doctor's scale I've gained a total of 2 pounds so far (although after my AZ trip, we're probably up to 3 or 4).
It's funny to watch the progression of the bump throughout the day. In the morning it is pretty much just some extra chub around the middle. But by bedtime, Eric is always amazed by how much I'm "showing." I try to remind him that most of it is still bloat, but I'm not sure he is convinced.
I know I'll probably regret saying this later, but I can't wait for that belly to get bigger!

Orange You Glad to See Me?

How far along: 15 weeks!

Mini and I just got back from a trip to see his/her Nanatinez. That's the name my mom has created for herself for her future grandchild. You see, Eric's mom is also a "Nana" and I was worried about how the baby would tell them a part (I know, I worry too much). So my mom decided to come up with some alternatives while still incorporating the dearly beloved "Nana" name. We are well on our way to being prepared for this kid.

In other exciting news I felt my first little squiggle while out in AZ! We were having lunch with MY Nana, my Aunt Avis and one of my best friends, Meghaan. I had just finished half of a delicious slice of chocolate mousse cheesecake when I felt a little tickle right on the inside of my stomach below my belly button. It caught me off guard, and I guess the surprise showed on my face because my mom and all the other ladies noticed my expression. What an awesome and strange feeling! I feel so blessed that it happened while I was surrounded by so much love with family and my oldest friends.
Plus it is another indication to me that Mini may very well be a girl since we were enjoying a Girls Day Out at the time. We shall see in TWO weeks! We go in for our anatomy scan on Wednesday, April 27th at 11:00am. Not that I'm counting down the hours or anything. I can't wait to figure out who's living inside of me!
